Event Navigation

Human Library is an event designed to promote dialogue, understanding and connection between people with different backgrounds, interests and perspectives. (The first Human Library was organized in 2000 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Learn more about the history of this project here.)

The Orange County Library System will be hosting a Human Library™ and is currently seeking participants to be human books. This event will take place at the Orlando Public Library (101 E. Central Blvd, Orlando) on Sunday, September 10th from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Participants will be an open book on a difficult or challenging topic for attendees (readers/patrons) to read. Conversations that take place between books and readers are meant to challenge stereotypes and foster a better understanding for diversity. Participants should be comfortable discussing their story in an open setting.

If you are interested in being a human book please fill out the following form: https://goo.gl/forms/qknOCaJ48NQhkKim2.
